MENAFN) A spokesperson for Al Naboodah Construction Group said that the company has recently been awarded the contract for the initial phase of Sowwah Island infrastructure by Mubadala Real Estate & Hospitality, Gulf News reported.
He further pointed that the contract includes the construction of four bridges and five kilometers of elevated roadways which, once completed, will act as the major road and utilities links between the centre of Abu Dhabi and Sowwah Square on Sowwah Island.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first EPC contract awarded by Mubadala in respect of the development of Sowwah Island and is a significant step towards meeting the targets of the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 Urban Structure Framework.
The first phase of infrastructure works for Sowwah Island is scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2010.
