Ormat, Arup, Polyflow receive Cleantech Group awards in Washington D.C.

Cleantech leaders recognized at Cleantech Forum XIII

WASHINGTON, September 17, 2008 — The Cleantech Group, LLC, founders of the cleantech investment category, today named the winners of its Emerging Enterprise, Cleantech Pioneer and Most Promising Technology awards in front of an audience of more than 500 at the Cleantech Forum® XVIII in Washington, D.C.

Yoram Bronicki, president of geothermal company Ormat Technologies (NYSE: ORA), accepted the Emerging Enterprise Award on behalf of Ormat. Geothermal technology is increasingly recognized as a tremendous source of inexpensive renewable energy. With four decades of experience, Ormat has an established market position and is emerging as a promising leader in enhanced geothermal and recovered energy generation.

Chris Luebkeman, director of Global Foresight & Innovation for design firm Arup, accepted the Cleantech Pioneer Award on behalf of Arup. The company received the award for its commitment to innovative and sustainable development, including intelligent designs that are energy efficient and have minimal environmental impact. Recently, Arup advised the design and construction of China’s National Stadium and Aquatic Center for the Beijing Olympics.

Joseph Hensel, CEO of Polyflow Corporation, accepted the Most Promising Technology Award for the company’s innovative plastic processing and recycling technology. Polyflow was selected as most promising of the 20 companies chosen from hundreds of applicants to present at the Cleantech Forum XVIII. The Polyflow process potentially makes all forms of plastic recyclable, improving the environmental footprint of plastic and petrochemical product lifecycles, from production through disposal.
